We want to open more hours – and are looking for Shift Volunteers to help make that happen!
Our incredible volunteers give their time to keep a beautiful, lively library at the heart of the neighbourhood. We now would love the library to open longer, as it did pre-Covid.
Shift Volunteers Tasks include helping visitors and loaning out books. Each shift lasts 4 hours and can be on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoon 1.30pm-5.30pm (at the latest) or Saturday mornings 9.30am -1.30pm. You will receive training.
What you get out of being a volunteer
Above all, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a positive difference to the community. You will also learn new skills, make new friendships and be part of a great group of people who have fought to keep their local library.
Shift Volunteer, Sarah, says: “Lots of fun, well organised and kind, really worthwhile! I’m really glad to be on board!”
If you would like to volunteer with us, email: kensalriselibraryvolunteers@hotmail.com and we will be in touch with further information.
The community library runs independently from the Council (which closed it) and depends on volunteers and financial donations to stay open.
